They're Here!

And I love them! My Sockapalooza sock pal knit me perfect socks that fit perfectly out of lovely Panda Cotton in Lilac (which is my favorite colour as of late) (and I didn't even note that in my yarn preferences). My silent sock pal David still remains a mystery though, he has no blog, and I know nothing about him except that he is from Oregon. Thank you David! :)

I learned something from these socks too. The cables are done on a background of stockinette, as opposed to the usual purl background. The reason that they stand out is because the cable stitch is slipped rather than knit on every second row. Such a neat trick.

I sent my socks off last Tuesday, I hope they meet their intended recipient in a timely fashion. I won't post the final product here because I want to see how they turn out in a pale pink, and also because I want to write up the pattern for publishing somewhere.

I haven't posted for a long time because I have been working super hard overhauling this site complete with a knitting section and a portfolio (work portfolio). I am so close! But the thing might be going live sans portfolio. I may have found about half a years work without needing to get any of the past 5 years in order. It could be a good thing. The job is a little new and different to what I normally do, but it is something that I love to do as it is. Organize information. Just different information this time.
